Alignment

Zooming out, alignment is the concept that the hologram of your model will appear in the correct spot at the correct time.

Alignment is set by the humans on site, so it's important to understand best practices for alignment. Alignment can be as tight as sub 1/8 inch, or it can be set sloppily for a quick "is it there" check. Argyle's alignment is designed to minimize the amount of input you, the user, must give it while maximizing your control over the site. Argyle has two patents that improve the stability of your AR experience.

Safety Considerations

Choose a place to align that will not kill you. No ledges. No elevator shafts. No trenches. Think, and consider strongly having a safety buddy for this first part. Yes please, your kids love you.

Setting Alignment the First Time

Setting alignment via the app is a three-step process that doesn't require any coordinated pre-planning before arrival. You'll want to know what landmarks you may be able to use on-site. Once on site, you'll do a three-step alignment process in the app.

1. Rotation

The first step is to rotate your model to the site correctly. The concept is that the dollhouse is correctly rotated such that if the building shrank on site, it would be correctly positioned, just smaller.

2. Location

Next, you'll set your rough location (think room-scale) by grabbing the avatar construction person and placing it in the corresponding dollhouse.

Pay attention to the avatar’s level and its grid location.

Once you place it the model will render around you in full scale. Take notice of the circle on your avatar. This indicates where the avatar is intersecting with the floor.
