Argyle is multiplatform. It works on Headmounted and iOS devices.

We will add new devices as customer demand dictates.

Argyle goal: to work on the best AR platform available for the construction site.

Headmounted Argyle

Hardware

Argyle is on Hololens 2 (with or without the Trimble XR 10)

Argyle is on the Magic Leap 2. Both of these are clear-glass AR platforms that you wear on your head.

As of Jan 2024, we do not currently have a product on Meta Quest 3 or on Apple Vision Pro.

Hololens 2 Pros and Cons

Hololens 2 has had longer testing periods, has more ratings qualifications, and has a flip up glasses feature. It comes available mounted as a hardhat on Trimble XR 10

Argyle works well on Hololens 2, but it is a slower and older device with some outdoor rendering limitations.

Argyle recommends Hololens 2 for 1 time setups in low or medium-density models

Magic Leap 2 Pros and Cons

Magic Leap 2 is a newer, faster device capable of loading larger models. It’s a good computer where the monitor is clear glass AR with scifi features like photon reduction for excellent outdoor use. Its great optics and tracking mean best in class alignment for longer.

Argyle recommends Magic Leap 2 for outdoor uses, for high-accuracy needs, and for people who want the latest tech.

Cons are few, but important. Today Magic Leap doesn’t have a great anchoring technology. This means “remembering” its location in Argyle is limited to uses with QR codes. How many? For a project, you should anticipate needing them per room, not a hundred.

iOS Pros and Cons

Apple tablet and phones are already on projects around the globe. Their major advantage is their ubiquity, however there are some limitations to bear in mind.
